In this video I will be flying a 1942 Russian plane in the Russian skies, trying to hunt down a WWII German plane. IL-2 Sturmovik has always been one of my favorite flight sims of all time. The feeling of flying in one of these old battle tested planes and using your skills instead of technology to blow the other guy up is just awesome.
The mission is simple: I will start face to face with the enemy and I will have to defend against his attacks while trying to get behind the enemy to line him up for the fatal strike. Quick Mission is one of the easiest and most accessible ways to get straight into a dogfight in this game, but there is also scripted campaigns and a career mode as well. I have only done a few missions in career mode but It has me very interested as well.
Near the end of this video I have made a major error in deciding to attack the anti air guns that were trying to pick me off, and I will just say it doesn’t end well for the “good guys”.
